What you should know about Animal Surgical Referral Service

Animals in Stirling, Veterinary in Stirling, Nursing in Stirling, Medical in Stirling

We don't sleep. We can perform emergency surgery, oxygen therapy, ventilation, fluid therapy, full in-house blood tests and imaging such as xrays. We are a full service hospital catering for urgent care circumstances (e.g. Pet has eaten something it shouldn't have) to severe emergencies (e.g. Snake bite, car accidents, collapse). We keep in close contact with your gp so that they know how your pet has been and whenever possible, refer you back to them for follow up care. There are between 4 and 10 staff members on the floor at any one time and so we are ready for anything. We are a group of highly skilled vets and nurses who work in a purpose built hospital thoughout the night and on weekends to take care of your pets. Perth vet emergency is the afterhours extension of your local general practitioner. So you can afterhours emergency vet open 6pm till 8am weeknights and 24h over weekends and public holidays. We have published a first aid book specifically for the pets of perth to help pet lovers identify symptoms of urgent medical situations so that they can perform first aid and know when they need to see a vet. If you are ever not sure, please call us on 9204 0400 or email a vet 24h a day on vet@pve.net.au. Your first port of call during normal working hours should be your local gp but when they are sleeping, we ensure that your pet gets the round the clock care you would expect for yourself if you were in hospital.

I love the challenge of occupied in emergency medicine. In her spare time Penny enjoys the Perth sunshine while spending time with family and friends. I initially worked for a small animal hospital in WA and during this period Perth Vet Emergency moved into the building we were located in. When she has time beyond her work and studies, Carole enjoys spending time with her 3 boys and renovating their home. She loves tea as much as she loves cats! Both pets found Stephanie while she was occupied at PE and are valuable members of the family. He commenced art school after high school but realized very quickly it wasn’t for him so he followed his other two passions to veterinary medicine. Anna enjoys active at PE because of the challenges each shift presents, the variety of cases and the great team environment. In her spare time she enjoys exercise such as the gym or running, time with her dog and trying to become a better surfer. While she enjoys all aspects of emergency and critical concern nursing, Cassie is particularly passionate about Feline Medicine. Her pets include three cats all rescues as small kittens who needed to be bottle fed every two hours. Behind busy for a few veterinary clinics over the years, Jenna found herself at Pert Vet Emergency where she is now the Practice Manager. Obtaining a position at a much larger clinic is where Katie found her calling with Emergency and Critical Concern and her love of wildlife took off! Supporting animals and their humans when they need someone the most and being a part of nursing critical care patients. She wanted to do more to help animals so she transitioned to nursing where she worked in the surgical center at a general practice earlier moving in to emergency and critical care nursing. A common theme for PE staff when asked why they love working at PE is The Team and this is true for Shawn as well. There are also three cats. Sophie has always had a passion to be in the animal industry. Imaging, medical and critical protection cases are veterinary areas Sophie is particularly passionate about. She enjoys working at PE because there is never a dull moment busy in emergency, regardless of the time of night. The team here at PE are an amazing group of individuals (including the clinic cats) who all have a very high standard of tolerant care and love for the job. She credits this to the shared focus by her colleagues to make patient welfare and concern in hospital a certain experience while providing the greatest standard of clinical care. Boris is particularly exceptional because of his blood type. The Veterinary Nurse team assisted in reviving the puppies, Vet nurses do some amazing things don’t they?.
